Pictured above is our own Rob Armajani who at the time was a member of Disciples Ministry Church Mission. He is prepping roasted turkey for our one and only Thanksgiving Meal served on Thanksgiving Day in 1986. Because we had a Holiday GiveAway on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving that included turkeys, we discontinued the Thanksgiving Day Meal. Rob has continued to serve the church as a volunteer member of the Board of Directors today.
Throughout the years, 32 years to be exact from 1980-2012, Volunteers have always been the greatest source of encouragement to the ministry. Until the church had the needed funds to pay staff, it relied on volunteers to do the work. Most of the staff started as volunteers. Most of the staff started as volunteers became staff members. Some staff members who changed employment came back to volunteer! Mission work at the church was always a blessing that people realized and needed to give back by working again and again.
