Praise the Lord!
Marvin, our senior volunteer, is holding the 'Applause Meter' that was used to measure applause for a talent act during the 'Senior's Day Talent Show'. Not really high tech, but, a great visual aid for measuring the applause for a talent act performed for seniors by seniors. Marvin Shold was its navigator who moved the red arrow. He was always smiling. He also dressed in a Santa Clause costume with his wife, Jan, during Christmas events, but, that is another headline story!
Marvin and Jan Shold were very involved volunteers helping at 'Senior's Day' events, Holiday GiveAways, and special events for children dressing in costume. They also volunteered to pick up food donations with their own van weekly and deliver them early in the morning. Marvin has physical disabilities and Jan is legally blind. They first came to Pastor Paul's Mission and said they wanted to do something to help. This was their way of giving back that continued for many years. We appreciated their hard work and many kindnesses through those years. The 'Applause Meter' is off the charts for Marvin and Jan Shold!
